The Utah Division of Administrative Rules updated tow truck rules December 22, 2009. The new rules are in effect as of January 1, 2010.
As fuel increases .50 per gallon from the base rate of $3.00, a surcharge shall be allowed of 10% of the base rate.
Conversely, if prices drop, they will decrease by the same amount.

The fuel surcharge may only be charged to the tow base rate fee and not the storage and administrative fees.
